Mazda models are some of the most dependable vehicles in the Independence area. But even we are occasionally hit with recalls when our component parts don’t perform up to spec. Fortunately, when that happens, your local Mazda service center can replace the defective part and have you up and running again in no time. Read on to learn how and, if your vehicle is due for service, give us a call and see how we can help.

How Do You Find Out if Your Vehicle Has a Recall?

Our Recall Information Center contains current recall notices that could impact your vehicle. Simply go to our page, enter your Mazda’s VIN number and find out if there are any issues requiring service or repair.

Scroll down to learn about the recall, what part of the vehicle needs to be replaced/repaired, and what this recall means for your vehicle. You can then schedule a time that is convenient for you to have the work completed.

Do You Have to Pay for Recall Repairs?

No. Recalls are covered by the manufacturer, regardless of your vehicle age or where you purchased it. Even if you bought your Mazda in San Francisco and moved to Overland Park later, your vehicle is covered at no cost at your local dealership. There is no need to go back to where you bought it or pay for service.

Do Vehicle Recalls Expire?

No. But in general, recall services will only be offered for a “reasonable time.” If the dealership goes out of business or the parts become unavailable, the service center is no longer obligated to make the repairs. Because of this, we do recommend that drivers have recall service completed sooner, rather than putting off until later.

Where Can I Get My Recall Service Done?

To get your recall service done, you can choose any certified Mazda service center in the Kansas City area, including Eddy’s Mazda of Lees’ Summit. Just be sure the center you select is authorized to perform recall repair service, and you get a copy of all work completed in writing.
